Secret lovers...

So I'm sitting here listening to this song on Grooveshark (awesome site by the way).

One night, probably more than 10 years ago, I was driving home from what seems like the city (dunno), with the radio tuned in to 96.5 KOIT. It was fairly late, so "For Lovers Only" was on, which is the song dedication part. So the DJ comes on, and announces a dedicatoin, from a man to a woman. The dedication being this song. It really threw me off, as this was the first time I was exposed to something like this in real life. I dunno, thinking about it even now makes me feel weird.

gender pay inequality: injustice, or corporate science?

I was watching the news last night and they were talking about resurrecting the bill which would push for equal pay for women. That reminded me of a blog post I read last year.

Found this blog post here at hugeskeleton, but it can be read in its entirety below.

The other day I heard two pseudo-feminists in a cafe running their mouths about what they feel like is the biggest atrocity of the past century: The fact that women get paid less for doing the exact same job as a man. Little do these self serving rug munchers realize how incredibly wrong they are

In the private sector corporate world, nearly every process is calculated and crunched down to be as cost effective as possible. Why? So the boss hog at the top can squeeze out as much money as possible. If he's going to add to his set of gold inlaid malaysian orphanbone golf clubs every quarter without financial remorse, he better have his company exude efficiency. The amount people are paid is a result of what they're worth to the company. Of course there are exceptions - Little oversight about who actually gets things done, crappy bosses and managers, scummy credit-stealing coworkers, but generally speaking, women don't equal up. This is fairly universal - If this was an isolated incident, women would simply all flock to a different company. Why don't they add up you may ask?

Simply put, women are too busy rocking out to the beat of MC unproductivity. That's not a hiphop reference, I'm talking about Menstrual Cycle unproductivity. During that roughly 5-day-monthly funfest, women physiologically cannot put forth the same amount of focus and energy. Not just calling in sick, or excusing themselves for "girl problems", the productivity of nearby coworkers is also a problem. As a woman unnecessarily bitches about random things and lashes out, those nearby are sucked into the tornado of bullshit. If you're having trouble envisioning that, consider this crudely drawn graphical representation of the day by day menstrual timebomb

Familiar huh? The same concept applies to why women don't work well in positions of authority. How can we expect a woman CEO to play it cool with her corporation during a merger if she's ragging out on the other merger CEO, then inevitably getting some chief executive dick thrown into her meat socket? What about women power politicians. Be thankful we had some XY leadership after World War II, otherwise we'd be speaking Russian. There's no doubt a female president at the time would've enjoyed a bristly mustache ride on Stalin's jagged Soviet face prior to letting him turn her presidential pussy into a flappy set of Iron Curtains. I could go on, but it's nothing but trouble. Moving back to the main issue at hand:

Women get paid roughly 15-20% less than men of the same position. What's a 30 day month divided by 3 to 6 days? A shocking coincidence, I'll let you crunch the numbers.

Bonus takeaway: Planning on traveling anytime soon?

Here are the graphs of pay disparity for several foreign countries

If you are planning on visiting any country from below the US all the way down to Yemen, be advised. If you're trying to turn out some foreign ladyfriend at a hostel and she's ragging, It'd be wise to reference this upon learning her nationality (feel free to laminate it and put it in your wallet). As the pay gap widens, one can statistically assume women in that country's period enters heavy flow-territory. So unless you're trying to fry up a floppy shed-uterus steak marinated in cunt blood at 3A.M, steer clear.

My theory on my taste in girls...

Looking back at my past relationships, the most successful ones have been with outgoing girls who are talkative and energetic (something I am not) This goes all the way back to high school, but oddly enough, something I've just figured out myself. the story of me figuring this out stems from the post below "Milky Way". That was the video that made me <3 BoA. The reason was because of the energy and spunkiness she displayed throughout the vid. I dunno how to explain without sounding creepy, but seeing how I'm writing this for myself, no explanation is needed because I should be able to know how it made me feel. Ok bye.

From Wall St. to Howard St.

So I just took a break, went outside and noticed something. I recently came back from NYC where I worked in our Wall St. office for a couple of days. I have to say, the vibe and whole mood of the financial district here in SF, and the one in NYC are very different. Now, most people I would talk to would say "no shit", however, the last few times I've been back to Manhattan, while strolling through the city, it felt like I was in SF. Anyway, the vibe in the two financial districts is very different. Dunno how to explain it...

Theories

People say, when you're in a relationship, you go with the flow. What does that mean exactly? I've come to think that it means go at your own pace, at whatever is comfortable for you. See, I've been trying to anticipate the other person's pace, and trying to match. Everytime it's ended up in failure. Do what you want to do, when you want to do it. If you wanna see her tonight, see her tonight. If they can't keep up, maybe it's time to move on. Now, I'm not trying to say move too fast, like rush into anything. Just go. Don't think too much and go. Don't be worried about getting hurt, because everyone gets hurt at one time or another. It's just a fact of life. And if we don't take risks, how are we supposed to find what truly makes us happy? If the relationship doesn't last, won't it feel better knowing you did what you wanted to do while you were in it, rather than holding yourself back? If the other person doesn't respond, then adapt. Girls like guys who are assertive. If you're constantly thinking whether or not they'll like something, you'll end up not doing it. At least if you're trying to do things (even simple things like holding hands), and they don't respond well to it, at least you're trying and not staying idle like a pansy. I guess that's what's on my mind right now.

Bennie K

bennie k
So I was talking to Annie, and we somehow got into the conversation about how I feel I'm changing (in terms of my attitudes, cares, etc...). It was a long conversation and I was basically trying to tell her that she needs to do what she wants, and be happy with herself, before she jumps into a relationship. So I was kind of explaining my moods, mannerisms, and such, and typing it out made me realize that I am changing for the better. Granted, life still sucks, but I like where things are headed.

Which brings me to the subject of this entry. Bennie K. Gosh I love them, haha. Anyhow, the songs I've been listening to the most are their songs. One of them is モノクローム (which I've written about), and the other is Dreamland. These two songs reflect how I feel probably 90% off the time. One song is depressing, talking about a monochrome life, and wanting to break out and get away. The other one is upbeat, happy, and fun. I listen to both of these songs about evenly, so I guess I can say I'm feeling upbeat and happy about half the time, and depressed and monochrome the other half. Where would I be if Rika hadn't introduced me to Bennie K? And Rika wouldn't have introduced me to them if I hadn't gone to Japan. And I wouldn't have gone to Japan if I were still seeing h. Also, if I were still seeing h, I wouldn't be making these positive strides towards a better me. Interesting how things work out...

Thinking back...

Thinking back to Tokyo, I remember seeing this really pretty/cute girl while walking up that narrow street/alleyway (a little past Bape towards Uniqlo) in Shibuya. She was wearing this cowboy-type hat, had semi-long wavey hair, and I think I really liked what she was wearing (I like fobby dress). She smiled at me. I don't remember if I smiled back, but regardless, I kept walking up the hill and didn't look back. Same thing kinda happened on Bart (as described in my previous entry) and I pretended to ignore that girl as well.

Which brings me to the point of this entry. I really need to put my ego in check. The reason I ignored them is because I wanted to make it seem like I didn't need them. In reality, I would've really liked to talk to both of those girls. Granted, the first one probably didn't speak any english, but I would've liked to try. I think, not only is it my ego, but a defense mechanism as well, because maybe I don't want to be hurt? Dunno, either way, it's something I need to be more aware of, and a trait I do not like about myself. Bleh.

Interesting Observation

cute white girl
This is going to sound shallow, judgemental and look like a blanket generalization, but oh well. So I was talking to Justin about girls yesterday, and the subject of NorCal vs. SoCal girls game up. So I ask him why SoCal girls are hotter than NorCal girls. He says SoCal girls try to be feminine, whereas NorCal girls try to be more like men. I thought about it for a second, and realized that I totally agree with him. Sucks, because I tend to like girly girls. I suppose it can be attributed to the perceived vibe of each area. NorCal, while more laid back, slow paced, and seemingly more business oriented is drab, and serious. SoCal on the otherhand is more fast paced, colorful, and fun. In-terms of girliness, I attribute it with more of a fun atmosphere, so it would make sense for the hotter girls to be in SoCal. And when I mean hot, I'm talking about looks, dress, AND personality. While many may say that SoCal girls are shallow and materialistic, there are many up here in NorCal as well. So concludes my thoughts/rant.

NorCal sucks.
